Tell people about myself.... hmmmm? What to tell, what to tell - well I'm way too far past my prime for my liking, drat it , but it hasn't stopped me from attempting to master watercolour painting. Will I master it before I shake off this mortal coil - God knows but I'm working at it. I also dabble with acrylics as well. I work part time and paint when I can, which is never often enough. I also do tie dying and my tie dye range is DinamikTiDi (the return of the ageing hippie - tie dye still rules yaaaayyy!). I am owned by the world's most spoiled cat who likes nothing better than to walk all over my artwork and lounge on my computer keyboard (its apparently a cat thing). I also do bead jewellery (cat loves chasing the beads too), silversmithing, and assorted other time consuming, money wasting arty crafty activities. I have a patient and tolerant partner who has learnt to just walk around or step over whatever mess I have left littering the entire lounge. He also has a strong sense of self preservation and is therefore brilliant at making appropriate complimentary remarks about whatever I have created. When watching TV he manages to turn a deaf ear to any muttering and swearing going on next to him when something has not worked out according to my expectations (such as when fabric dye has just cascaded all down the cupboards etc or a great big paint drip has fallen on to what was a beautiful pristine watercolour blue sky). As well as the cat I own numerous birds, am bossed around by two little red hens (Henny and Penny) and don't kill the spiders in the house (there is a size limit - when they are big enough to saddle they are given their marching orders and removed to the outside to terrorize the chooks or whatever). I normally sell my original paintings at the Port Community Arts Centre Member Exhibitions, but have also sold paintings at various Art Shows around Adelaide and have received to 2 merit awards (kind of chuffed about that). I sell my art and tie dye on Artfire and Zibbet and am still developing aspects of my website, which features my art and photography and also artworks produced by other family members. Currently I have been doing paintings featuring umbrellas or hot air balloons. Well, I think I have probably bored you all to tears with this waffle, so I will just say thanks for checking out my deviant site (which will have more on it as soon as time allows and as soon as I figure out what things to click on). Cheers.
